Platform are currently making a sympathetic film portrait of the late academic and activist Ralph Miliband, exploring his life and ideas and the Marxism on which they were based.

The documentary will include interviews we conducted with him in the early nineties, conversations with Ralph’s colleagues, friends and family plus archive film, photos and memorabilia. Platform also filmed at a demonstration outside the Daily Mail after the paper attempted to smear Ed Miliband by linking his policies to the beliefs of his Marxist father, a man who they subsequently described as hating Britain.

We feel this film will prove to be a much needed and timely record of the life and legacy of an important political figure.

To complete the project, we are trying to raise £10,000 for further filming, the purchase of BBC archive footage of Ralph, film music, editing etc.
